Torta Amara – A Sweet from the Maira Valley
A traditional dessert from Piedmont, particularly the province of Cuneo and the Maira Valley, Torta Amara is our artisan reinterpretation of the classic hazelnut cake. Soft, crumbly, and full of flavor, it combines HAZELNUTS, sweet and bitter ALMONDS (which give the product its name) with carefully selected, simple ingredients, following a recipe handed down since 1964.
Serving suggestions: perfect for breakfast with milk or coffee, or at the end of a meal with pastry cream, zabaglione, or our Nocciorum® spread; also delicious on its own.
Ingredients: soft WHEAT flour, vegetable margarine, sugar, MAIZE flour, Piedmont trilobed HAZELNUTS, sweet and bitter ALMONDS, EGGS from free-range hens raised in the Municipality of Dronero (Km 0), fed with organic feed. Lactose-free.
Allergens: contains GLUTEN, HAZELNUTS, ALMONDS (NUTS), EGGS. Produced in a facility where NUTS, MILK, and SOY are used.
