“ROT” Special Edition DOC 2025 Red Wine, 0.75 l: the Merano DOC Schiava selected by SEPP'Manufaktur and Cantina Merano to accompany the South Tyrolean snack (Marende).
“ROT” was created through a collaboration between SEPP'Manufaktur and Cantina Merano, who set out together to find the perfect red wine for the South Tyrolean snack. They chose the most traditional of South Tyrol's red wines, Merano DOC Schiava (Meraner Vernatsch). The name they chose is simply “ROT”, meaning “red”.
Schiava is South Tyrol's oldest indigenous red grape variety and is particularly highly regarded in the Burggrafenamt, the Merano area where SEPP'Manufaktur is based. This wine pairs with many dishes, especially speck and traditional South Tyrolean recipes; served chilled, Merano's light red is also enjoyed as an aperitif. The result combines tradition with fresh, fruity drinkability.
- Ideal with SEPP'Manufaktur South Tyrolean speck, a South Tyrolean snack and cured meats
- Light red wine
- Origin: Merano
- Serving temperature: 12-14 °C
- Brilliant ruby-red color
- Soft tannins with balanced fruity acidity
Food pairings
This wine is ideal with appetizers, speck, cured meats, cheeses, traditional home-style dishes and veal. The classic South Tyrolean snack calls for this very red wine.
