Vintage: 2018

Origin area: Valtènesi, Soffaino hills, area called “Sofai”

Grape variety: Groppello, Marzemino and Rebo

Harvest: Hand-picked harvest in small crates

Production: At the beginning of October, the best Rebo and Marzemino grapes are manually selected and placed in crates, ready for drying in the attic. After a 30% weight loss, the bunches are further selected and then crushed. Fermentation is very slow with extreme attention to preserving aromas, extracting color, and managing the sweetness and elegance of the tannins. At the end, the wine is transferred to barriques to optimize color stabilization and the malolactic fermentation process. Then it undergoes aging in second-use French barriques where the wine rests for 12 months and is finally blended with Groppello, previously vinified in steel tanks. The bottle will age for another 6 months before being released to the market.

Alcohol: 14.00 %

Color: Intense and bright ruby red

Aroma: Vinous, fruity with notes of wild berries, blackberry jam, raspberries and spices

Taste: Savory, round and balanced with excellent organoleptic structure

Pairing: Excellent with skewers, stews, grilled meats, cured meats and flavorful cheeses

Packaging: 0.75 l bottle in a box of six bottles

WINE DESCRIPTION
The company vineyards dedicated to the production of this wine are located in Valtènesi, on the Soffiano hills in the area called “Sofai,” which means under the beeches. In the shade of these trees, local farmers used to have lunch during the summer midday break and rest their oxen.
The Soffaino hills are located in the Garda Bresciano area on the western shore of Lake Garda, between Lake Lucone, a prehistoric basin that became a UNESCO heritage site due to its important archaeological significance, and the Sovenigo Ponds, which represent the best example of an intermorainic basin of Garda, offering a unique spectacle in July and August when the waters are covered with the pink of lotus flowers.

TASTING NOTES
Intense and bright ruby red color. On the nose, it immediately reveals itself as rich and penetrating; it expresses scents of wild berries, blackberry jam with elegant spiciness and hints of cocoa aromas. On the palate, it presents a structure of good volume, excellent balance, and great elegance with tannins well integrated with the fruit component.

Free shipping if you buy at least 6 bottles.
